And Sometimes I Just Feel Like MeltingThe Hague, October 2022
As part of an experimental exhibition organised by the EX35 collective, focused on touch as a sense in art, I created an interactive installation that invited participants to engage directly with bioplastics. Hung throughout the space, these materials became a tactile medium for exploration. Throughout the evening, participants were encouraged to melt the bioplastics, gradually altering their form and creating a dynamic, evolving environment.

As the plastics melted, the room filled with the distinct scent of the material transforming, and the bioplastics changed before the audience’s eyes, with holes and gaps emerging as the heat interacted with the material. This process not only created a sensory experience but also served as a meditation on the fragility and impermanence of materials, highlighting the act of transformation as both a physical and metaphorical gesture.
